APA, MLA, Harvard, Vancouver, ASA
There are two main reasons you are required to cite your sources when doing an assignment for class:
- To give credit for words or ideas belonging to another author (failure to do this can result in a failing grade and other negative consequences)
- So that your instructor can verify your work
These guides will help you identify the basic elements of a citation for the most common types of materials.
